What is views

Views is a new online platform which will make it easier for public service providers to demonstrate the outcomes and value of their work.

On this site you can track the latest developments and release dates, share your thoughts on what you need from an online outcome tracking system and register to join the pilot, test the tools and give us feedback.

Developed with support from NESTA and the Cabinet Office, Views builds on the existing Substance Project Reporting System (SPRS) which has helped hundreds of individual projects and national programmes capture and evaluate their work.

Views will deliver a step change in the standard of online public service monitoring through its:

  • Usability – In terms of an intuitive interface
  • Flexibility – In terms of configuration and interfacing with third party tools
  • Validity – In terms of data processing, verification and visualisation
  • Accessibility – In terms of real time views and sharing of data

Infinitely configurable, Views will facilitate the storage and automated mapping of the full range of quantitative and qualitative data against designated outcome frameworks. It will enable seamless links to an array of third party outcome monitoring tools and valuing models. Views will provide public service commissioners with high quality evidence of delivery outcomes, impact and value. It will identify both where efficiency savings can be achieved as well as those projects likely to deliver the best results and outcomes.

The new Views prototype is now being piloted with a range of public service commissioners, service delivery organisations and project staff across the UK with a full public launch scheduled for the autumn of 2010.
